Summary:
Change and uncertainty have become the main themes since the global financial crisis. As the governments and economies of the developed world struggle to emerge from recession, the emerging economies are experiencing growth rates well beyond the developed world. The main locus of economic activity seems to be shifting from the developed to the developing world.
The developed world, in an attempt to stimulate a global recovery, has flooded the global financial system with money. Continued worries over the sovereign debt crisis, a painful deleveraging process still in its early stages, and questions over the creditworthiness of the U.S. government have further complicated the picture. In contrast, the emerging economies are dealing with inflationary pressures, an unsettled Mideast, and rising commodity prices. Volatility seems to be the “new normal” for investors as they navigate this challenging backdrop .
On October 6th, Argyle Executive Forum and Standard & Poor’s Valuation & Risk Strategies Group will bring together the world’s leading investment management firms to discuss their outlook and challenges for the year ahead.
